Calenthia Torrence-Harper is the Founder and CEO of City Wide Jani. She is a native of New Orleans, LA. and a mother of two. Calenthia relocated to Chicago, IL in 1997 where she worked as an Executive Assistant for a major Property Management company. Although the work was good, she felt unfulfilled and decided to follow her heart. She knew she had a greater purpose in life. Calenthia left her job and started a cleaning company. “Why a cleaning company?” many people would ask. She knew that it was the right path for her. Cleaning has always been her passion. So she excitedly started cleaning homes for family and friends. 25 years later, City Wide Jani is now a full services commercial cleaning company with a strong local presence in the Chicagoland area.
Through her leadership, City Wide has gained an exceptional record of employing and training members of the community from all walks of life. Calenthia’s mission is to continue to provide jobs, create business opportunities, and to help develop & support existing local businesses in Chicago. She is very active in the daily operations of City Wide and is a proud member of the Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce, International Trade Association and South Shore Chamber of Commerce.
